THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND BEING WONDERFUL!!!
As a plus-sized woman, it really warms my heart to see you take fashion inspiration from photos of people who are bigger than you
I love also. And in such a natural, non-forced way showing that the plus-sized fashionistas *actually* inspired her ❤
Agreed!
it’s not simple (as nor is the reverse)-a lot of things that look absolutely fantastic on a fuller body type need some tweaks to work on a slighter body type!
Hannah really does follow some of the most elegant fashionistas who wear plus sizes, incredibly innovative dressers
You’re the size you choose to be
I’ve never seen this before and it made me tear up a little
I’d say this is a fashion content version of your “duping the vibes” series, and I love it!
God I missed those videos 😭❤️ Thank you for reminding me of them!
Feeling all of these! Re. Outfit #5…the fit is dead on. To wear it in a professional setting you need a sumptuous 100% silk cami in the exact shade of your skin, so you achieve the effect without the risk. I have the perfect one from Victoria’s Secret I got in the 90s that I still wear today!
@@SocialMediaShan yes, that would work! I have spaghetti strap silk tops from 'back in the day' WinterSilks, in nude shade. Something like that would be perfect!
Ooooh, 90s era Victoria’s Secret 100% silk pieces are so delightful! I also find a lot of good secondhand 100% silk pieces from a brand called WinterSilks for folks who are looking (depop, poshmark, thredup,Etsy, eBay, etc…)
@@mettamorph4523Ha! I feel silly! I didn’t read your comment until I had already posted about WinterSilks! I love the brand!
@@MLiesel don't feel silly! ☺️ We are kindred fashionistas!
@ Thanks! I love encountering like-minded fashionistas!
Hannah and community, I tried that sitting down outfit in my own way- a white casual tshirt, slip skirt in rust, and botega like mules in brown, cognac top handle bag. Because I love to mix Afro chic into everything I wear I threw on a scarf with an afro blue and orange pattern on my head and tortoise shell cat eye sunnies. Am i not walking around like the best dressed version of myself in every room. My confidence went up! Thanks for giving us some inspiration to look into our closets with fresh eyes!
@@mandisashozi8639 This sounds like such a glorious outfit! Your description is so evocative, and I’m feeling happy just picturing you moving through your day feeling amazing in what you’re wearing. The good feelings are contagious. Thanks for sharing!
Your rhetoric made me think about translating from a foreign language. There are two schools of thought: a literal translation and one which tries to get the feeling or the soul of the piece. As comments below, most of us cannot do a literal translation of an outfit styled on a 6ft model with amazing fabrics. The best we can do is try is to get the soul of the look be it sexy or square, flamboyant or reserved.
love it!
Failing UP is a great concept to take forward. It's not about perfection, it's about trying and learning. Love it!!
"Cleavage is too weak a word" had me weak :D
All those oversized shirts and jackets in the eighties showed EVERYTHING lol
Fortunately cute bras were affordable
The blazer could be made to work with an ultra deep v lace cami in your skin tone, maybe not visible from head on but in those “peek-a-boo” moments. So much love HLP, I love the way your mind works!
Great idea. Especially with a body con stretch lace with a deep V, so that it clings.
Hannah, I'm just so happy that you got to experiment with re-creating your favorite photos! I knew you'd go for Miuccia, but I was so excited when you also picked the black and navy, the plunging blazer, and Abesola's three bean salad! I can't even imagine how much fun that was!
Loved this video -- I look forward to more! I so appreciate the types of images you are using - thank you for sharing gorgeous images of woman at all ages, sizes, etc.
I think in outfit #3 the cropped vest works better because there is a visual shortness to the top in the inspiration image, and it's the contrast to the long length of the black skirt. So the cropped offers greater visual contrast, whereas the bodysuit gave the impression of length because of the low waistline on the skirt. It's amazing that the eye somehow skips the midriffe!
Omg well described! Spot on
I was trying to figure it out and your explanation makes so much sense.
The blue/black outfit with oversized aviators is brilliant on you. Yes, it's different to the inspiration, but it so totally works, it's got a really strong vibe. Love it! And I'm inspired...
So excited! Been patiently waiting for you to be able to try out all your ideas on camera! Love seeing the ideas applied in person not just concept 😁
It's a joy seeing your aesthetic sensibility mature and evolve -
definitely encourages others (myself included) to be self-reflective and grow.
Many times you love an outfit (like number 4) in which the main visual factors are created by things you might be, at some point, wanting to take off (like the glasses, the bag.....or even a coat/jacket). If that is the case, then you end up with something extremely simple (in my opinion). Maybe you can talk about it in other video, give solutions (if you have one 😅).
I truly love your videos Hannah! Sending all my love and blessings from Argentina, the country of tango❤
So glad you have a new space to work in! Just a note to say that you might want to rethink the camera angle or mirror - when you check yourself in the mirror at this angle, you’re completely turning away from us and we can’t actually see the outfit in a significant way in profile. Maybe reposition the mirror to the wall behind the camera? Love that you’re back to some irl fashion content!!
i didn't mind that actually, but I liked when you also turned to the camera to show a more centered view of the front :)
I love that Quince has affordable cashmere pants and sweaters for kids, I try to dress my kids in as many natural fibres as possible, quality over quantity for sure, but I love that theyre actually affordable investments lol and their linen / organic cotton dresses * chefs kiss* oooOoO and their linen trousers gosh, I have their linen trousers on my wish list
I think the word you were grabbing for to describe your style is louche!
"disreputable or sordid in a rakish or appealing way."
This is my dream video. You could do one every week and I'd watch it.
I'd love if you'd bring up the camera angle in your new space a bit, that would make it even better.
Thanks Hannah!
17:40 UGH how that blazer fits on you is HEAVEN. It's the perfect amount of tailored to create shape but never tight. Skimming the frame but never clinging.
I've always thought I would be more of a "way oversized" blazer person but for this I was trying to match the image and I ended up liking it more than I thought I would!
No matter how low I may feel. How depressed and hopeless in my darkest hours you always lift me up. Thank You.
I hope today is better! Sending a hug. This is a tough year
this is SOOOOO fun, I love the act of translating fashion insp into an actual outfit to wear. and I have to say, in the brown slip skirt outfit you're lowkey giving Helly R from severance and it's GREAT.
I'm short with a big bust and I struggle so much with fashion. 🙈 It looks so effortless on tall skinny women but I often look like a joke, lol. Also I don't walk around indoors with sunglasses and a bag and often times that's what makes the outfit look good.
Your content is very inspiring. 🙏
I feel you! In my case being short means the oversized stuff is VERY hard to pull off. So far I learned that my waist has to be defined and the top cropped, or I once was successful with monochromatic all oversized outfit. And V neck (or any neck) is lifesaver.
If you haven’t already, have a look at the Kibbe body types. Aly art, Merriam style and Gabrielle arruda are good YT channels for that. I’m curvy with a short torso and I’ve found the system really helpful.
@@lisa34478Or Ellie Jean Royden's Body matrix as a modernized version!
I love Hannah but most of her fashion choices aren’t the best for those of us who are short. Oversized pieces tend to overwhelm us.
@@paulachristie7807 That's true. I really like the blazer look. But I can only dream of leaving the house without a bra. Having big 🍒 is so annoying. 😔
I love Quince too! The high neck long black tank dress is what I grab for summer. It is so flattering even for this 70 year old! I just received the bamboo shams and gauze shams and they are AMAZING! Now I want the satin skirt!
The open blazer: You've got to try it out with fashion tape and see if it works because it looks AMAZING!
One of my absolute favourite outfits to go out in is a black blazer with a lace bra, high waisted black jeans and some black stiletto pumps and a red lip. There's something about a blazer and (almost) nothing underneath that just looks so good!
I have a blazer that is not moving that much and I wore it on 2 occasions without anything underneath. Actually, second time was after your last video you showed that concept. It reminded me that I wore it once to a classical music concert, and I have been inspired to repeat it. Second time was to a dinner party. I think that fabric plays the biggest role to determine will the blazer be „opening“ when you move your arms. I did have fashion tape, for just in case.
Than you for the inspiration. Keep up the good work
Hannah 😭 im coming to you as a last resort, ever since the day you came out with that wet look eyeshadow video, ive been looking for a dupe for astral solstice, its the shadow of my dreamssss, im so desperate I could buy it but then i wouldn’t use half those colours in midnight sun or divine rose and it would be so wasteful, i loved the way it looked wet but not glittery when it was sheered out and ive done so much research looking for an alternative, but in the videos ive seen they never sheer things out properly or wet it to swatch and I haven’t actually seen enough in person to know, i would be SO FOREVER grateful if you could find another shadow with a similar formula to the astral shades and i know loads of people would appreciate it because those special shades are such a big draw to pat McGrath,
❤ this vid.
Outfit 3 proportions are affected by the horizontal cut off between black and white. On the model image the skirt has a much higher waist. The IRL outfit proportions are helped by the extra long skirt and matching shoe color. Both are the best proportions for each body shape. The bare midriff works on a younger person (but I vow to try it on my 67 yo ample frame and test how it feels. The covered midriff feels more formal. The bare midriff IRL version seems more casual and Gen Z enough to style with ankle socks and a cropped jacket.
I have an extra long burgundy stretch-satin skirt that I can style as a strapless dress, long skirt or midi (when I hike up the waist, hold it in place with a stretch belt and wear a chunky sweater over it. Miraculously, it does not wrinkle.)
It's great for a travel capsule or a "Low Cost-Per-Wear " wardrobe. It's the kind of wardrobe I hope to aspire to as soon as I can convince myself to do laundry more often. Ha, ha ha., ❤️ 😆😂🤣
Hey, Hannah! Another video idea: how to make a house dress look cool.
In other words, you’re working from home in your comfortable clothes that you never wear outside your house, and you have to run an errand during your lunch break. How to make what you’re wearing look fashionable instead of having to completely change clothes?
i loveeeed seeing you in the brown skirt having an “interview” and then swinging around in your chair. it made my heart so happy. i reallllly love the last look on you!!! omg, i need that beautiful brown jacket i saw you wearing. i also would love to have the bodysuit and the cropped white tanks!!! 🤎🤎🤎
🎉 congrats on the completed space!
Yay for fashion filming space. Loved all the Pinterest and concept videos, and now excited for this new evolution of being able to recreate on video.
You have the most glowing, radiant skin Hannah its mesmerising, love your authentic content.
I loved the "10 outfits I'm obsessed with" video and I love Quince, so this was an especially joyful video to me! I'm glad you noted the different things you can find at Quince. I got their 3 wood bowls (they stack). I gave the largest to our daughter who entertains big crowds, and use the other 2 on a daily basis. Quince offers some amazing finds with high quality as well as a commitment to sustainability.
love the fashion space, love the experiments and results ,
I absolutely loved this video and concept!!! I would love to see more videos like this, and I especially would love to see one where you use only your closet!
Outfit one; you can have an oversized white shirt on and you can contrast it with slimmer fitting trousers. That kind of contrast is very interesting to the eye.
Love all the things and the way you styled them! And then I found myself yelling at the screen as if I were watching an episode of Top Chef or Chopped. “Don’t use the truffle oil, Hannah! Grab the COS long sleeve semi sheer ivory wool tee with the long black skirt! “ and I stand by this advice because how amazing would that be and still feeling the vibe of Abbi’s original fit.
But I DO still really like it with the truffle oil also. And thanks for introducing me to quince on your channel. I haven’t purchased for myself but I got several items for Christmas gifts for my family and each was treasured ❤
I love that I came here to watch relaxed fashion content, and I came out learning a new word.
Slovenly...it sounds sooooo good too!
For the last outfit: maybe a (silky) camisole with lace and in the same color as the jacket? It might make the outfit more wearable while retaining the sensual innuendos :)
Lovely video, Hannah, thank you 🤎
I am so excited that this video format is finally here! The space is fabulous!
Thank you for your inspiring and thoughtful videos! I’m sure the shirt Anouk is wearing is a high quality men’s shirt. They are often sturdy and have the double cuff. I’ve thrifted one.
The most fascinating thing to me about that first outfit is the way it both looks "boyfriend" esque (I'm fairly certain that is some sort of tuxedo or very formal menswear shirt) and yet looks quite polished on her.
Loved your recreation!
The thing with Miuccia Prada’s style (and Prada in general) is that details make all the difference. You can try to copy the vibe, but you will always feel that there’s something missing. The styling is so brilliant that it’s difficult to dissect (I loved your look regardless ❤)
I really appreciate that your style is intentional and curated but you don’t necessarily focus on being feminine or womanly. I’ve struggled a lot over the years because distinctly feminine or womanly clothing doesnt feel authentic for me, but there’s that niggling voice that tells me if I don’t look distinctly feminine then I look frumpy. It’s a balm to my soul to see you approach fashion with so much joy and attention, without obsessing on feminine details or whether the clothing highlights your woman’s body.
With all the conversations about body type, kibble, scents and so on. I think it's really interesting when you say that you can put the same outfit that the inspo imagine, and that your body make the same pieces look more pull together. Your frame have an impact on the way the clothes is perceived and it's a concept that is not explored enough in videos, I think 👀👌🏻
That was so much fun! No fails! ❤
It’s so fun to see your growth from the days of you not wanting to share your closet declutter with us - to now
I LOVE this new space! It feels like a win for all of us really ❤🎉
Seeing these outfits reminds me so much of old-school HLP videos of shopping your closet, but with refined and perfected modern twists. I also love that it was sponsored, but I still felt like I could achieve this with what I already have. Can’t wait for the next fashion piece!!
Ah! I love Quince! excellent quality!
This was so good! Can you do this with the woman in the butter yellow pants with the gray v neck from your other video?
I screamed, "she did it!" when I saw this. Yes for play. YES!
LOVE Quince! Started with a cashmere sweater and moved on to a couple of cashmere cotton ones. Then a blanket. Everything has been terrific!
I’m glad to see you are talking about Quince. I’ve been buying so much from them and I love everything. Quality has been so good.
lol your little poses were very cute, absolutely loved the video!
Phenomenal video Hannah, I love the fashion filming space!
Yay! The return of the silver bag! I love this bag, so glad you still have it
I love all of these on you! Love this content!!!
I Failed Up... love the Optimism in all you do! 💞
Loved this. And they came out really beautifully!
I think that blazer and red lip combo would be perfection for a headshot next time you need one!
Loving all the fashion food for thought, and the new space is glorious! I would love some more thoughts on how to gauge whether silhouette and proportion will work for you when shopping online. Similar to what you found with some of these, sometimes I get the item on with existing pieces I had in mind and it doesn't quite work, and I'd love to minimise my online shopping returns by getting better at this ❤
So fun! Love when you test ideas in real time.
This is such an inspiring video. All your recreations looked great. I’m so excited to see more fashion content in the new space!
LOVE the new filming set-up! Love all the outfits... yes on the fashion tape!
This was fun and inspiring!
You look stunning with a red lip!!!! Like my heart literally skipped a beat when you put the red lip on ❤
I love how you recreated the number 2
I can appreciate you trying to recreate your dream outfits (we've all been there!) but what I'd love even MORE is if you took the lessons learnt (casual on top with formal on the bottom like in Prada pic) and clothing theories (like 3 bean salad, monochromatic dressing, etc.), and made outfits from your closet using those parameters. What I love from your clothing videos is how you look at a bunch of different images and figure out what the "formula" or "secret ingredient" is, and turn your musings into digestible lessons + takeaways. It feels much more empowering to think I can apply those to my own closet because you've shown I DON'T need the exact items the model is wearing.
(BTW I totally understand that this video falls into the "I bought the exact items from this Pinterest image, here's what I learnt" category, so I don't want to get down on you! It's more of a feedback-in-the-form-of-future-video-idea comment (: )
Wow, Hannah that was a complete win, awesome colour pairings and surprising ones. Black with navy and brown work really well together and I found myself liking them. I am not sure what I would find on my Pinterest board but I will definitely look with new eyes. I am also looking at your no buys and the Checkins you did, as it is Spring and everyone wants to shop in Spring. I will cook something new, read, study and do something else as I figure out my own closet pairings and find new ways to scratch those itches. If you haven't seen the movie The Saint with Val Kilmner and Elizabeth Shue it is very good and so is her fashion ... set Oxford, London, Paris and Moscow. She's a grad student in Oxford and Val is a spy .. so sad to hear of his passing. The movie is very good and has a very Dark Academia aesthetic. Enjoy the bold new you emerging!
Fantastic video, I love how you interpreted those outfits! ...and your humor in regard to the blazer outfit is precious 😊 All the best and greetings from Germany!
to me, your version of the black and navy look is a spring/summer edition of the inspo look 😎
Not me over here reminding my son to buy his duvet cover and pillows from Quince! He's deciding between charcoal and dusty blue. In a shocking turn of events, he chose bordeaux!
Also, I hope we get to see you make over the space. I really enjoyed the guest room makeover video.
This was so fun to follow along with you on this! It also reminded me of Alyssa Beltempo- she routinely does these vids where she breaks outfits down to elements of style and gets really creative with her own closet. (She also does a lovely job of drawing inspiration from all sizes and shapes!) Like you, her outfits often come out looking differently from the original pic but in a really good way. Cheers! 🥂
@@libbyslens7826 Yes! I was thinking the same thing! Love both Alyssa and Hannah!
I'm curvy and find that a lot of Quince clothes are cut for narrow hips and narrow shoulders -- and I've got an hourglass with broad shoulders BUT! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Quince's linen sheets! I've got one set and about to order a second. Also bought a set plus duvet cover for my son. Really lovely and what a bargain!
I have that Miuccia Prada look pinned too! That and the Phoebe Philo crewneck sweater with black cuffed pants. Really plain things but the balance and fit are so good!
Hey, the deep blazer. I use a nice nude-goldish triangular bikini top under them and opened button-downs. It has a soft shine and I gather the triangles. If the horizontal string is seen it is of my skin color, so, very subtle.
Hi Hannah! You truly nailed it with outfits 1 and 2 ~ I actually prefer the stronger white at the neckline and to my eye, it looks more balanced than the one in the inspo photo. Plus, the size L Tee will give you more versatility with other wardrobe. With numbers 3 ("slovenly chic)" the silhouette is "it;" and you can totally do #4 blazer w/o anything underneath, would just need to find one of those exotic bras for low-cut neckline. (Back in the day, they were supported around the waist and then criss/crossed somehow in the back ~) Plus, that color combo really suits you. I also loved the matched pants and sweater set you tried a few years ago (It was a deep salmon color, I believe) ~ the relaxed classic look really suits you IMO. Nice video!
Great video Hannah! I'm always getting inspiration from Pinterest whether it be fashion, home ideas, cooking etc. (the list goes on). What you are doing here is exactly what I do....find an outfit I love and then mimick it with what I have in my own wardrobe which always ends up having my own twist on it. Keep doing these videos and your home decor vids as they are sooo good. xx
I do the same thing. I always call it being "pinspired". :)
I’m currently feeling very frumpy in my clothes and these videos are so inspiring as I reevaluate my closet and slowly make some changes ❤
These outfits are ace and you so, did not fail xx
Wonderful content!
Love that we are seeing you put things together. and Yeah Quince for sponsoring! They are such a great resource. I also appreciate that they are mixing in quality products like East Fork (although I prefer to buy from them directly). That cashmere T has been on my wishlist for a while now.
Love the fashion content!!
black and brown together is SO tabby-core
Outfit 2, for me, it is the visual texture of the heels and the skirt in that delicious chocolatey brown color.
I like all your content- but this particular post - I really loved. Those are looks I love all of them. I have all the pieces except the brown skirt- but it’s a style I’d like to try. I’ll be on the lookout for that. ❤
I think with Miuccia's outfit the colors are also more nuanced. The brown has more depth, the shoes are obviously satin (therefore matching the skirt in how the light bounces off of them; this I think is the key to the outfit), even the black color of the sweater does not seem quite black, it reads as dark navy, which pairs extremely well with the light-ish brown.
Love it!! You look stunning. My fav is the 90s long skirt with the baby tee. So cute!
love Quince! Such great quality!
A well placed safety pin hidden by a lapel works wonders if you are going for the jacket nothing underneath look! Just play around until you feel secure!
I'm obsessed with my quince purchases so I understand - thanks for the heads up on the white shirt I hadn't even seen that and want to try it! This was so much fun to watch and obviously to do LOL. Get some tape- that blazer looked amazing on you!
Congratulations on getting the new filming space sorted! I loved this video, and I'm so excited for more fashion content!!
Hannah, I love this type of content!
It was such an inspiring video, Hannah! You looked amazing in those outfits! Off I go to play with my own wardrobe as some of these outfits need to be re-created 🌹
Love this - thank you!
That's a GREAT blazer! I'd try to find a suuuuuuper deep-plunge short-sleeve bodysuit, maybe in the same color as whatever trousers or skirt you're wearing it with?
another banger! i am feeling so inspired from this vid to try to recreate some of my own pinned outfit. thank you!!!
Love these outfits ❤ so chic
I’ve been buying cashmere sweaters from quince or yearssss and love them. Good sponsor!
Loved this Hannah!!
